ASCE named M. Patrick Kane as their 2012 Engineer of the Year. Pat is a manager of the Transportation Division at L.R. Kimball, a position he has held since January 2000. Pat is responsible for business development, sales strategy, and execution in the transportation sector, as well as transportation operations management for the regional office. Pat has an MBA from Robert Morris University and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.
Pat has been a member of ASCE since 1990. He served as president of the Pittsburgh Section from 2004-2005. He also chaired the Construction Legislative Council of Western PA from 2004-2005, where he represented ASCE, as one of thirteen member organizations, on behalf of the construction industry. He is currently serving as a board member of the American Society of Highway Engineers.
Pat is a licensed professional engineer in Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. His other professional affiliations include ASHE- American Society of Highway Engineers; ABCD – Association for Bridge Construction and Design; and ACEC-PA – American Council of Engineering Companies (Pennsylvania).
