Last month, the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) announced that the total footprint of commercial projects certified under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System worldwide surpassed one billion square feet. Our hats go out the entire architecture industry for their contribution to reaching this impressive number.
Healthy buildings lead to happier occupants and a greener environment. To that end, we are proud to work hand in hand with our clients to pursue LEED certification for their projects. Here’s a look at some of our contributions to the one billion square feet milestone.
FIRST LEED® CERTIFIED BASEBALL STADIUM
We designed, engineered and managed the Medlar Field project, producing a top-rated ballpark that is used by both Penn State’s baseball team and the State College minor-league professional baseball team. It was the first professional (and college) baseball stadium to earn LEED certification for the green techniques used in its construction and operations. Get a glimpse at it here.
